More Fitness

Foods I try to stay away from!
1. White Bread- This has no nutritional value what so ever. Wheat is much better.
2. Beverages with calories- It always surprises me how many calories can be consumed when you drink soda or juices.
3. Dairy- Milk does have a lot of nutrition but too much cheese and other diary products can be bad. I rarely will eat anything in this category even yogurt. I normally replace that with fresh fruit.
4. Most salad dressings- Caesar and ranch dressings can be really bad for you. 2 tablespoons of caesar can have over 160 calories and 17 grams of fat. That’s not a lot of your daily intake but I would rather use the calories on something else. Try vinaigrette or fat free ranch instead.
5. Food at any restaurants- When I first started eating healthy I looked up the nutritional value of restaurants in hopes to find something healthy. Even salads at places like Burger King are unhealthy.  There healthiest salad was 190 calories and 22 grams of fat. Which again isn’t to bad but I would rather save those calories for a larger meal. There was even a salad that had 44 grams of fat. My advice to people just starting to be health conscious is to ALWAYS check the nutritional value at restaurants.
6. Last but not least, Snacks. I replace things like chips or popcorn with fresh fruit and veggies. Going hungry isn’t apart of being healthy. You need to keep your body fueled, especially so you can keep your metabolism up. So if you do get hungry before dinner than eat some carrots or eat some strawberries.
Since eating like this I have lost 30 pounds in only months. I of course went running and the gym as well! Eating healthy is just as important as being active. Also remember that it’s okay to treat yourself once in a while!

Until next time!

Fitness Tips

When I first started to the gym or my daily run, I hated it. It can be really hard at first to get motivated to exercise and eat healthy! When people ask me how to stay motivated here is what I tell them:
  • ·      Make goals for yourself. Start off small! Maybe going to the gym twice a week or going for a run every other day.
  • ·     When you start running, go slowly. Don’t push yourself.
  • ·      Find a friend or a family member to go with you, they can encourage you!
  • ·      Make an awesome playlist for when you go to exercise, spotify also has some really great stations.
  • ·      Blog/tweet/facebook about it! This is an amazing way to find others who feel the same way you do and it can even help yourself.
  • ·      Don’t choose a day to do it and then keep pushing it back! This was one of my first mistakes. There will never be a perfect day to get fit, just start now.
  • ·      DON’T use a scale everyday. Water weight and muscles can make a big difference in numbers. I suggest taking pictures from start to finish and weighing in once a week.
  • ·      NEVER give up. So you were too busy to go to the gym today, go tomorrow. You went to a birthday party and ate 2 pieces of cake, it happens to the best of us!
  • ·      It is perfectly fine to treat yourself once in a while. Once a week get a Grande Frap from Starbucks or an everything bagel. Everyone needs a break once in a while, just don’t go overboard when you do decide to treat yourself. (Plus it could speed up your metabolism.)
  • ·      The last tip is to reward your goals, this time I am not talking about food. If you ran everyday and lost 5 pounds then go shopping! If I do well then I will go buy workout clothes, maybe a new water bottle, or even that new eye shadow palette from Sephora.
  • ·      No matter what, keep up the good work! Once you start exercising and seeing a difference you wont want to stop. Just make sure you are eating healthy and loosing weight the right way!

More about me

In the future I will probably make more posts about fitness, fashion, makeup, eating healthy, etc. Currently I am not in Charleston, I am back in Kentucky for a short time for a few celebrations. So this post will be a little bit more about myself, hopefully it's not to boring. So like I said in the first post I don't know what I want to Major in which is a big problem since I have to declare soon! I am considering business, Law, or something to do with fitness. Part of the reason that I moved to SC was to find myself without worrying about influences from family or friends.

I am also thinking about making a moving guide because I know how hard it is to pack everything up and move, believe me I've been there.

The reason that I want to go into business is because in high school I took marketing all four years and got a certificate in it. I love the aspect of business and marketing. If I did go into business I would either get a degree in marketing and economics. I've always loved politics and law so I am thinking maybe law school? I also have a love for Fitness so I have thought about being a dietitian. The last thought is to become a event planner. I have so many things that I want to be and I can't just choose one! It is so frustrating haha!

On a lighter subject I love crime shows! They are my addiction! Currently Criminal Minds is my favorite! Doctor Reid is the love of my life. I will name my future dog after him. I LOVE seafood. I am also a Pescatarian or a vegetarian that eats seafood! I hope to one day become a full vegetarian but I have a hard time giving up salmon and ship, my favorites ;) I like 80's and 90's music. My favorite Lilly pattern is POP. I wish I could eat holiday candy year-round. Makeup used to be one of my biggest passions but I don't wear as much anymore. I love using technology but I am super bad at it.

Until next time,

Intro

Hey all! I am totally new to blogging but I thought that It would be a fun stress reliever! Let me introduce myself, my name is Danielle and I currently located in Charleston Sc! I've lived her for a short while but I was born and raised in Kentucky.

I love photography, crime shows, and I am a pescetarian (or a vegetarian that eats seafood.) I hope to one day be a full time vegetarian. I love all things fitness and eating healthy. I currently don't know what I want to major in but I am thinking about law school. I started off wanting to go into fashion merchandising but after the first year of college I've changed my mind. I am considering business, crime, or becoming a dietician. I also love music, long car rides, and traveling.

The more I type the more I feel like I am making a dating profile. Whoops! This blog will be filled with random thoughts, happy memories, and the occasional (or more like frequent) embarrassing stories of what happens to me.

I love life and being happy, which might sound totally cheesy but it's true. When I lived in Kentucky I went through a period of self doubt but now that I am in South Carolina I have never been happier! I am excited to share what goes on in my life with whoever is reading this and I promise it will be worth your time!

Until next time
